WAITAHUNA
May 14.— Since Friday the weather has been lovely, the days bright and sunny and the nights a little sharp. Presentation. — A surprise party, consisting of the members of the Waitahuna Presbyterian Church choir, some members of the Bible class, and some other friends, met at the residence of Mr R. M'Ara on Wednesday evening for the purpose of saying good-bye to Mies Rose M'Ara prior to her departure for the North Island. During the evening the Rev. Mr Reid, on behalf of the choir and Bible class, presented Miss M'Ara with a beautiful dressing case as a token of the members' love and esteem. In doing so he Baid that they were all sorry to lose the company and Eer\ices of one whom they all loved and respected. Confirmation.,— On Monday moraiiur. the
14th uM., his Lordship the Bishop administered the sacrament of confirmation to 26 candidates in St. Patrick's Church. After confirmation Bishop Verdon asked the children to join the League of the Cross, explaining that it was a temperance society.
