MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.
A TEMUKA LADY MTSSING.
A painful «?n«ation has been caused In Femuka. during the past few clays (writes ihe correspondent of the Christchurch Press) owing to tho absence from home of Mrs Elizabeth Miles, wife of Mr James Miles, who disappeared on or about Saturday, April 21. On this date it appears (hat She left for Timaru with the intention of being treated at the hospital there. a«d since then no trace of her has been obtained. When the members of her family learned that she had not gone to the hospital, it was thought that probably she was visiting friends. This supposition, however, appears to be unfounded, as co evi«Jenc3 can be found of her havinsr made any visit. It was not uncommon for her to go to Fairlie, where Mr Miles manages a drapery business, but word was received at 5 p.m. on Monday that there was no trace of Her there. -Tie missihifr woman is about 55 years of age, .of short stature, being about sft high. *nd stoutly built, with a very fr<*sh complexion. She was dressed in black, and wore a dark cloak when last seen. The matter has been reported io thp police, and Sub-inspector Green. of Timaru, - and Sorpeanr Gillespie, of Temuka/ hav<3 instituted inquiries,
