Eight thousand people ?aw Madame Bernhardt play " Cam i lie " in a tent at Dallas (Texasi on March 28. It wa 3 her first appearance under canvas, and. the situation seemed to please her. She gave her interpretation of *' Carnille " as cleverly and realistically as if she were confronted by an audience of New Yorkers or Parisians in the most modern theatres. The tent was crowded, 4200 seats being occupied, and as m*ny more persons -standing, and then' was a line of people outside the tent a block long trying to get in. The money taken f r the sale of seats and stahding room up to 8 o'clock exceeded ll.CCCdol.
