IFrou Our Owk Cohhespondent.) WELLINGTON, December 8. Entries for the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Championship are coming in freely. This is the first time for 10 years that the championship has been liekl in "Wellington. The Wellington College grounds, where the meeting will be held, are m excellent order, and all arrangements for the tournament are already completed. There -will be 12 courts. Large entries have been received from Otago already, while numerous inquiries haye been received from Otago, Hawke's Bay, and other districts. It is just possible that Brookes, of Victoria, who distinguished himself so greatly in England, may be a competitor. He will arrive at Auckland on the 15th inst. and Mr Holmes, the president of the association, will wait i/pon him with a view to getting him to compete in the championships. The entries for the handicap matches close to-morrow, and entries for the championships a week later. Parker and Miss Nunneley will be competitois at tiie meeting. funi, and in a piachce match the other evening he played in good style pgainst Parker, the set resulting m favour of the latter by 9 to 7. Playing with Blown, an even closer game resulted against Parl.cr and Swanston, so that when Mr Fisher has a few days' spell after the election he and White, of Dunedir, who is his partner, should have a good chance of winning the Doubles Championships. In any ease, there are sure to be some veiy kten contests.
