TRADE WITH THE ARGENTINE.
The possibilities of- trad© between New Zealand and "the Argentine are foreshadowed in the following > information supplied to us by Mr C. 8./Srnlth, of Messrs C. B. Smith and Co.', Crawford street, Dunedin. Mr Smith says: —"ln execution of a commission received frqm an Italian gentleman in the Argentine, I have shipped, per s.s. Tongariro, a fairly extensive- order of agricultural implements. The principal part of the order is made tip of ploughs, there being 12 of three-furrows.. These are divided into several classes to suit different localities. I have also sent sundry disc harrows, seed-sowers, drills, horse-blocks, and cultivators^ The implements will be well tested, and if they prove satisfactory other shipments will certainly follow. The gentleman for whom I am acting is largely interested in grazing, and also in refrigerating. Thus I have shipped quite a number of grain and other seeds, but all in small quantiies at present for experimenting only." Mr Smith adds: — "It is very probable that I will be arranging for some good stud sheep to be sent at an early date."
