INVERCARGILL D.L F. LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY.
Dear Dot, — The ordinary weekly meeting of ' the Invercargill D.L.F. Literary and "Debating Society was held in the Oddfellows' Hal], Tay street, on Wednesday evening, August 23. There were present of the committee — Ths j President (Willow Brook), in the chair , Zealia, Ceres, Bewa, and Maidie M. The subject chosen for the evening was "Your Favourite Poei." Papers were contributed by Old-timer, who took "Robert Burns" ; Zealia, "Alfred Tennyson" ; Maidie M., "Henry Longfellow", Willow Biook, "Robeit Burns"; Dado, "Sir Walter Scott"; Tika, "William | "Wordsworth" ; and Ceres. '"Byron and Torn Moore." The papers were all of excellent quality, and a vote of thanks was passed to those who contributed. Open meeting takes place on August 30. All D.L.F. are heartily t invited to attend our meetings.— Yours truly, CERES, Secretary.
