ANGLO-FRENCH ENTENTE.
LONDON, August 15. England and France have renounced rivalry in Abys-sinia.

President Loubet's message to King Edward is as follows :— " The manifestation of the reciprocal and cordial sympathy existing between the two navies has been, as your Majesty happily expressed it, a further token of the friendship between, the two countries. I am anxious on the termination of the fetes, whose memory will remain graven on the heaits of the officers and sailors, to tender your Majesty the thanks of the Republic."
King Edward replied as follows: — " Sincerest thanks for your charming telegram. The country and myself were delighted t-o welcome the splendid squadron, and to give expression to our feelings of friendship towards your navy and country." Lord Lansdowne. in replying to M. Rouvier's message of thanks for the reception of the French squadron, stated that the spontaneous manifestation of feeling is dee.p-seated in the heart of the nation.
