WELLINGTON, June 29. | The Wellington poultry show opeijed to- i ipay. There are over 1100 entries, includ- I 3ng exhibits from all parts of the colony i »nd also from Australia. The 10-guinea 1 trophy for the best bird, Norwich canary , classes, was awarded to D. Murphy, Wellington ; and the North Island championship. Yorkshire canaries, to C. Bartley, Auckland. The following North Island poultry championshius were won:— Wyan.- ,
j dottes : White hen, John E. Thompson (Wellington). Indian runner ducks, Sioler (Bros. (Wanganui). Pigeons: English owl, J. Noble (Stanmore, Sydney). Canai-ies : Yorkshire, Clement Bartley (Auckland).
