CHRISTCHURCH, May 04 At Addmgton to-day there were 'arge entries of all classes of fat stock, and there was a fair attendance. Beef showed some recovery m values, and fat lambs were very firm. Prime fat sheop sold up to last week's rates, but secondary sorts were easier. Pi g3 of all classes, especially fat pigs, were easier Taere was a poor sale of fat cattle, and dairy cows were not in quite such good demand. Store Sheep.—There were only a few small lots offered, and they sold well at late rates. lhe bulk of the entry consisted of two-tooth wethers, and thest*. sold as follows:— 76 at 18s 4d, 181 at 17s 6d, 104 at 17s 4d, 208 at 16s lid, I*s at 16s sd, 136 at 16s sd, 136 at 16s 3d, 53 ai, 16? 3d. Fifty-eight hoggets made 13s Bd, and 94 sold at 12s lpd. A few small lots of a<*ed merino ewes sold at from 3s lOd to 7s 7d. Fat Lambs.—There was a very large yarding, made up principally of good-sized lines of prime quality. Bidding throughout the sale was very brisk, and the range of prices for prime lambs and tegs was 17s 6d to 21s, and lighter 14s 9d to 17s. Fat Sheep.—There was a fairly large yarding including some prime lines of wethers and ewes. The market opened ait the previous week's rates, and prime sorts maintained their values throughout. Unfinished wethers were easier, and when the butchers had filled their requirements ewes aleo declined, but the exporters came into the market, and took a consierable number of good quality handy-weight ewes at prices ranging from 14"s 9d to* 17s 6d. Aged and inferior sorts were neglected, and brought lower prices than of late. The range of prices was—wethers, prime, 22s to 24s 4d; medium, 20s to 21s 6d; unfinished, 17s to 19s; ewes, extra prime, 21s to 23s 6d; prime, 188 to 20s fid; medium, 16s to 17s 6d; aged, 14s 9d to lon 6d. Fat Cattle.—The entry totalled 234, made up chiefly of good and prime quality steers.
