The Avonda-le Jockey Club's autumn meeting was commenced to-day, when the weather was fine. The gathering was well patronised for an off day. The sum. of £3416 w^put through the totalisator. Results: — Manden Plate Handicap. Six furlongs.— Lycia, 8.5 1 ; Leo Delaval, 7.10, 2 ; Seatonia, 7.6 3. Also started • Nervine, Lillymea, Simple Simon, Silicia, Stepmar, Cyril, Soult, Maid. Waikare, Waita.ti, and Sunshine. Won comfortably by three lengths. Time, lmin 19sec. Dividends," £3 10s 6d and £2 5s 6d Handicap Hurdle Raxse. Juvenile Handicap. For two-year-olds. Five furlongs. — Annette, 7.11, 1 ; Master Delaval, 7.6, 2; Devonport, 8.3, 3. Also started: Foremost, Dardanus, Merry Delaval, Pumu, Dear Dolly. Won by four lengths. Time, lmin 3 2-ssec. Dividends, £2 3a 6d and £2 17s.

Avondale Handicap. One mile and aquarter. — Strathavon, 8.0, 1; Akarana. 7.8, 2. Also started : Romeo, Putty, Durable, Zuleika, Sir Gilead, Delania, Soailtfish. Putty finished first, but was ordered to be distanced for interfering with Strathavon in the straight, and the rider (M'Oluskey) was disqualified during the pleasure of the stewards.
