CLEARING SALE AT GRANT'S BRAES.
The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand, Limited (in conjunction with Messrs Sievwright Bros, aaid Co.) report having held » clearing saie of dairy cows, young cattle, farming implements, dairy utensils, etc., on account of Mr Hans P. H. Skow at his fromestead, Grant's Braes, Otago Peninsula, yirhen there was a, splendid attendance of settlers from all parts of the Peninsula, Port Chalmers, Dunedin, and Taieri. As it was •well known that Mr Skew was giving up farming, and that the sale would be unreserved, '3buyers had every confidence in bidding, and the xesu'it was that every lot offered was keenly competed for and realised good values. The •whole of the stock, being in fine condition, commanded the attention of buyers, and, the implements being in good order, there was no ■trouble in finding buyers, and no doubt -from the fact of<Mr Skow being a popular settler his neighbours were induced lo bid a little more freely than they would otherwise have done. The' cows fetched from £2 to £8 10s ; heifers (in calf) £3 15s ; heifers (18 months), 25s to 325 ; #fceers (15 months/, 20a to 363; niaro saidjieltf.-
