DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE.

The share market was inclined to be somewhat easy on Saturday morning, and there vas little or no tendency to do business. This was doubtless due to the fact that the Molyuenx River, by the state of which the market is more or less affected, has started to rise again, and so disturb the drift and give trouble to some of the dredges. The rise during the past two days has been one of lOin, and tmtil frosts set in a really steady river can hardly be expected. Saturday's market was, as already stated, somewhat quiet, and the only business of the call-over was the placing of a large parcel of Commercial Property shares at 3s fid — the seller's price. In mining stocks New Alpine Consols and New Fourtee2i-mile Beaches both commanded slightly better inquiry, but in each case holders remained unchanged. Muddy Creeks also firmed a good deal, in consequence, no doubt, of the good return from this company's dredge for last week. Outside of these three stocks the market was uninteresting, and values generally showed no movement calling for comment.

Inquiry was made for Bignell's No Towns on Saturday morning at 15s, and a seller responded at 16g 6d. Electrics were in request at 325, but the market was apparently devoid of a seller. A parcel of Golden Treasure shares placed on offer at 81s drew no inquiry, while Haitley and Rileys were quoted at the previous day's rates. Junction Electrics were practically unchanged, the only difference being that buyers were offering 6s 3d as against 6s 4Jd the previous day, holders agaia askui?

6s 9d. Muddy Creeks commanded much better notice at 20s, but holders were wide at 255. The inquiry for New Alpine Consols showed a further slight improvement, the price offered being 13s 3d, but buyers remained steady at 14s.' New Fourteen-mile Beaches commanded improved notice at 21s p., but sellers were again asking 30s p. Buyers of No Town Creeks were a shade firmer at 15s 3d, but holders were weaker at 17s 3d. Riley's Beaches were sought after at ss, and a seller responded at 6s 6d. Rise and Shines were procurable at 275, and Rising Suns at 23s 6d, but there was no demand for either.

The McTyneux River continues rising, the height above nornial maik at Alexandra on Monday morning being sft lOin, thus indicating a rise of 4in since Saturday morning. The share market, as a consequence, was again exceedingly quiet on Monday, and, as on Saturday, there appeared to be no inclination to- do business. Values in the majority of shocks quoted are, however, being well maintained, so that as soon as the river commences to fall again the market may be expected to harden up considerably. New Alpine Consols and Hartleys were imalteder on Monday, while in mo3t of the other stocks quotes were slightly wide. For some reason or other the returns for the past week were not quit* so numerous as in. the provfous week, but neverthelses the individual yields are for the ltt'Osfc part very satisfactory. The New Fourteen-mile Beach dredge heads the list — though Jnot unexpectedly, as in the early part of the week an indication of the prospects being met with had been given — with 114oz, but the other returns are lather small in comparison. The "West Coast provides some very fair yields, thcragh a few dredges were troubled, with a flood in the latter part of the week. Rain- was, however, urgently required by most of the sluicing claims and not a few of the dredging concerns, the water supply having become very scarce.

Alexandra Leads were in request on Monday at ss, but sellers were holding wide at 7s. Dunstan Leads were procurable at 6s 6d, but drew no inquiry; while Electrics were again sought after in yam at 325. The only alteration in Hartley and Riley shares was that the selling p-rice was 49s 6d as against 50s on Saturday, the buying price being again 455. Junction Electrics had inquiry at 6s, and a reller responded at 7s. Nelson Creeks were procurable at 22s 6d, but drew no inquiiy ; and New Alpine Consols were quoted at last week's closing rates — buyers 13s 3d, sellers 14s. Olrig3 were also unchanged. Otagos had slightly better inquiry at 295, but holders were just a shade easier a-t 30s x 6d. A parcel of Pactolus shares placed on offer at 32s 6d drew no inquiry.
