Notes from Feefton.
(Fkom Oue Own Correspondent.? REEFTON, March 11. The Alpine Company's mine manager reports: — "The rise was extended 13it, making the total distance 102 ft. A manhole sft in length has been finished. 'There is 4ft 6in of stone in the rise, and no improvement in quality. The winze in No. 12 south was sunk 6ft, making the total 16ft. The reef is now flush with our footwall logs, and is going down plumb. It has not been cut into since Tuesday last, when it was one foot thick, of very fair quality. The sinking on the hangingwall side is hard." The Ulster Company's mine manager reports: — "During the week some prospecting was done on the reef formation found on the east side of the footwall when the winze was being sunk. After sinking a few feet this cut out, and work was discontinued "We then, bailed out the main wmze and commenced sinking it again." The New J^edclerson s dredge washed up 370z for 85 hours.
