SUGGESTED ELECTRIC LIGHT TOURNAMENT.
Mr C. E. Keast, secretary of the Caledonian Bowling Club, has been quietly working out for the past few days a- scheme for holding a bowling tournament under electric light, and he suggests that the proceeds might be devoted to the family of the late Mr A. J. Barth, in recognition of his services to bowling and to the JCew Zealand Boy/ling Association, at whoso entertainments he was ever ready to give his services. The Caledonian Club has willingly agreed to grant the use of its green, and now that the electric trams pass the gate, Mr Keast learns that the electric light could be installed at a very small cost. The idea is an excellent one, and such a tournament should prove very attractive. Bowlers generally would no doubt give the movement a, hearty support. It is suggested by Mr Keast that a committee should be appointed to co-operate witb him in carrying out details, composed, say, of the vice-president and-^secre-tary of the New Zealand Bowling Association and the presidents t»f the various city and suburban clubs. If thought desirable, the Dunedin Club, of which Mr Barth was a member, might nominate one or two others on the committee in addition to the president.
