SPORTS AT WANGANUI.
"WANGANUI, April 4.
Beautiful weather prevailed for the holiday. The Wanganui Collegiate School athletic sports were very largely attended. The Senior Championship was> won by H. G. Hanmer with 16 points— a record— with E. O. L. Jones second (7 points). The Junior Championship was won by Woollarns with 141 points— a- record. In the Quarter-mile Senior Championship Hanmer in. 54 l-ssec broke the record. He also won the Senior 100 yds in 11 l-ssec, and the Long Jump. Other results were : —Putting Weight, Jones : Throwing the Ball, Hitchmgs ; High Jump, Logan; Open 120 yds Hurdles, Beckett; Old Boys' Race— Craig 1, Dymock 2. Abraham 3: Championship 120 yds Hurdles and 220 yds, Holmden: "Half-mile School Handicap — D. G. Riddifoid l r Smith 2, Mason 3. Ihe Old Boys won the tug-of-war.
