Crop. — Tha leading-iu is practically over, and in most cases the crops have turned otit weli, Mr J. C. Smith, in particular, having a veiy fine show cf stacks.

Scholastic. — Our teacher, Mi Burnard, is leaving us, having been appointed to the position of teacher at Awarnoko. Those of us who have had the privilege of being on intimate terms with Mr and Mrs Burnard and family are very porry indeed that he has decided to leave here ; but, owing to the uncongenial nature of ihis surroundings, it is rot surprising that he has taken this step. The residents of Awamoko can congratulate themselves on liaving secured a teacher of ability and of high moral character.

Improvements. — A new building has just been completed for the Roman Catholics, to serve as a church and school. Though not a large building, it is quite up to the requirements of the place.
