Country Sales.— Donald Eeid and Co. (Limited) report having he'd their usual sale at Taieri saleyards, Allanton, on Tuesday, 2nct mat. There was an entiy of 51 head of steers, heifers, calves, and dairy cows, and 2 draught Lorses. There was only a small attendance, fanners being busy harvesting. Those present were, however, int.ut on business, and, under moderate competition, all the cattle, excepting one cow, changed hands. Dairy cows sold at up to £6; steers, £4 to £J 15s; heifers, up to £5 ; calves, £1 3b to £2 7s. Horses not having been advertised, there were -;o horse buyers present. They sold for Messrs R. and William Braid, Leishman, Higgins, W. Robertson, W. Milne, F. Kavanaski, and ctheis. Their next *«.!e will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 1901. Rabbitskins. — Ihore have been no sales since last report.

Sheepskins. — Large catalogues weie offered at Tuesday's sale. There waj splendid competition for all on offer, and prices showed an advance on late rates. Hides.— The u-=ual fortnightly sales were held en Thursday, 28th January, when good-sized catalogues were submitted. Tbere wrs a good! attendance of buyers, but bidding was- not as spirited as usual, and all light to medium hides suffered a decline of about id' to id per lb. according to quality.
