ROXBURGH,. February 2.
The weather is delightful at present. There has been a lot of r»;n this last few days, and it has done a lot 01 gocd
Ihe Gold King dredge washed up 470z for last week, p.nd the King No. 2 8-3oz for the veek, and Mr Sparrow, who bought the diedges when the company went into liquidation, cleared over £40.) from the two diedges last week. He has been very fortuni^e in securing two good and experienced dredgemasters like Mr M'Leau and Mr Magnus.
The Teviot dredgs is making good progress with her overhauling. It will be some week 3 yet before she is ready for a start. The Kohmoor and Lady Roxburgh dredges are working very steadily. The river has fallen a little.
February 5. The river is almost at its winter level now, and tfce gorge dredges should s&on make a start. The Gold King No. 2 dredge washed up 320z
ior 67 hours' dredging. 11ns is a splendid return. She will bo stopped for a few dpys, as the cheek of the bottom tumbler has broken. There has been a flnw in it for some time. An old one that was on the claim is being put m All the dredges are working steadily.
