COUNTRY SALE.
Messrs Dalgely and Co. (L.rei(-?d) report having held their monthly sale at Palmerston on Monday, the Ist insx. v»he,i they vardecl 242 sheep and 140 head of cattle. There wns a fair attendance of farmers and others interested, and, considering the dry weather that has been experienced in the d'stnet competition for both sheep ?nd cattle was faiily The sheep offered consisted of small ewes and lambs, two-tooth wethers and ewes, all of which found buyers at full market rates. Cattle were represented by twc-\ ear-o'd steers and hcifars, yearlings, and diy cow?, and a few good dairy cows. Prices for these were eacier than at last sale, but as vendors h?d come prepared to accept lower rates nearly the whole of the entry changed hands. They sold 212 sheep and 128 head cattle for Messis F. Glover, James Carnegy, William M'Cullcch. Wallace Willccck, ■\V. H. Glover, aid Mrs G-lover (Dnnhack). Messrs Jamc G-eddes J. C.
