DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows .—Very few horses forward for this week's sale — only half a dozen draughts, all of them aged horses but one, and 10 or 12 harness horses, of quality Tanging from medium to good. There was a good attendance cf buyers, and almost every horso entered changed hands at excellent prices. Tho demand ior draught horses is keener now than it has been at any time this year, &nd the same remark applies to strong, young harness horses- "We believe there is no better market in tte colony at the present time than Duaedin for these descriptions of horsefl2sh. We hold a special sale of draught horses at our yards on Friday, 21st inst., when we sell on account of Messrs M«xham Bros., New South Wales, 22 purebred five-year-old Clydesdale fillies, got by imported sires out of selected mares, and bred by the Weinholt Estate Company. These fillies were landed on Saturday ex s.s. Monowai, and several of the best judges of Clydesdale stock in Dunedin, who saw them landing, have expressed the opinion that for breading, quality, and size they far surpass any previous shipments from New South WaJes. On the same day we sell on account of Mr John Stanton, of Tuapeka West, his well-known team of 10 heavy draught mares and geldings, waggon, and harness. We quote: Superior 3 oung draught geldings, £55 to £60 ; extra good, prize horses, £56 to £63 ; medium draught mares and ge'dings, £36 to £48; aged do, £25 to £35; upstanding carriage horses, £30 to £35 ; wellmatched carriage pairs, £70 to £90; strong spring-van horses, £36 to £43 ; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart horses, £20 to £27; tram horse 3, £18 to £28; light hacics, £10 to £15; extra gcod hacks, £18 to £25; weedy and aged hacks and harness horses, JC4 to £9.
