SOUTHLAND.
Tho Southland Hospital Trustees sued Andrei' Neilson for £72 for tho maintenance of his son since 1901. Tho boy, a newsrunuor, got hurt on a train, and has been invalided ever since. His employers had him insured. A payment of 14-s Id per week has Wen made to the father, who declined to reimburse the trust for medical attendance and maintenance. On the case coming up for hearing defendant's counsel said ho was willing to i>ay half the claim in instalments. This tho trustees accepted, tho main desire being to show that persons with moans could not use the institution gratis. Defendant also pays the insurance money to the trust in future.
