ROXBURGH, June 23.
The river has risen about 9in
The new screen for the Teviot dredge arrived to-day. The manager is relipping the buckets at urepent.
The Lady Roxburgh drtdge is taking a cut right across the river, and is obtaining gold ■throughout. The Long Valley dredge started yesterday xrjymiiig after being overhauled.
The Molyneux Kohinoor dredge is working steadily, ard is keep-ng on the gold. Tho Melba (late" Gold Deposit) dredge is expected to start in about 10 rlayi. A rniahao to the pantry has delayed matters a little. The ladder has been lengthened 12ft. and a new elevator put on.
June 28. The weather is still dry and frosty, and the river is low.
Mr Bryce, lafe of the Kelly and Casey dredge, has been anpointed manager of the New Teviot dredge. She is expected to be ready to start work a^ain at -the end of this week. Mr S. Coard, late manager of the Coal Cr*ek Flat dredsfp, leaver in a week for Waikaka to tncnagp the Waikaka No. 2 dredge. Tlip Erdeavour dredge is again working sWdi'y, the new tumbler shaft having been fitted up.
