Tho annual meeting T>f the Alpine No. 2 Gold- Dredging- CoHipany -was held on. Monday " afternoon, when tfiere was a good attendance, fliid the chanman of directors (Mr H. Stokes) l'.re-^ded. Tiic Cln:rman, in moving the adoption of the leport and balance 3heet. a precis of which has already been published, said the work of lengthening the dredge ladder hod been a oomp'ete success, and great credit was due to the ' looai director, who had supervised the. work. Ihe actual expenditure was £103, including wages pnd extra material. He did not think many other companies could have lengthened the ladder so expeditiously and so economically. The only regret was that the ladder had not boon lengthened a f«w feet more. The dredgo wa-, now in first-class order. The amount of giour.d dredga-d, he was p'eased to say, was comparatively sini-uH. At the outside about 30 yards had bser worked, while there were ful y ,?00 \a.rd'3 yet to work, and the ground to b-< worked would most Likely produce as rich re^u'ts as tlie worked area. It would be impo«s.ble to work out the claim this yeaar, but it nught be don» next year. He was pleased! to b= abe to announce that a meeting of directors had declared a further dividend of 53 per share. . Thp motion upon being seconded, was carried unanimously. Messrs H. Stokes and C. Freeman were reel ect-ed directors, and Messrs Burr, Leary, and Co. rcpppointod auditori. A vote of th;>nks to the chair concluded the meeting.
