" I see that the author of this poem an freedom is accused of plagiarism now," observed Jones, dropping his morning paper on the floor and turning his attention to the buttered toast.
"It is something awful," replied Mrs Jone=, with the severest kind of expression upon her face, "the way these men go about the country marrying innocent women."
" Plagiarism." said Jonea, loftily, "means a Lterary thief." " Stole some book?, did he?"
" No, no ; he simply pirated ideas. They claim that some woman wrote the poem years ago."
" I don't see what they want to bring it up against her now for. She may have been young at 'the time and be trying to live it down; but no one is safe in these daj's of ha'penny papers."
And Mrs Jones helped herself to another piece of toart a-5 s-he continued to look severely at her husband, a& if it was all his fault.
