DUNFDIN JOCKEY CLUB

The monthly meeting of the committee of the. Duiiedin Jockey Club was held on Wednesday, there being present the Hon. G. M'Leari (chairman), Messrs Ewing, Hazlett, Thomson, Carr, and Hanlon. Apologies were received for the absence of Mesprs Bullock and Myers.

Mr A. C. Hanlon wrote accepting a seat on the committee.— Receive^.

Mr James Mills wrote asking for leave of absence during his trip to the Old Oountary.— Granted.

The transfer of the Steprxak — Marlin filly from M- J. B. Reid to Mt B. T. Bennett was approved.

The Works Committee reported that after inspecting the caretaksr's cottage, they recommend that fche club's arcniieo*' be instructed to call for tenders for additions and improvements tLereto. — Adopted.

Tie dates submitted by the country cubs for holding their meetings during the season 19031904 were consider^ and it was resolved — " That the same be sent on to the conference, with the club's recommendations as to some sligki alterations." v

It was resolved that the Hon.. G. ITLean and Mr J. A. Millar, M.H.R., be appointed the club's delegates to the annual conference at Wellington in July.

The annual meeting of the Dunedm Jockey Club has been fixed for July 13 In accordance with the rules the following" nominations were received for office-bearers- President, Hon. O. M'Lea.n ; vice-p-residsnt. Mr S- Solomon ; Committee— Messrs A. E. S. Carr, R. Ewing, J. Hazlett, P. Miller, S. Myers, and W. BL Taggart. As only the required number were nominated, the above-ruimed gentlemen will hold office for the ensuing year.
