(Limited)— yarded 2027 sheep and 74 head of cattle. There was a large attendance, and competition for nearly all classes of stock was good and the prices realised very satisfactory. Sheep. — The largest portion of the entry consisted of bre?ding ewes, while the balance was made up of two or three lots of four and sixtooth wethws nnd a few pens of iambs. Local demand was very strong, and, with tho exception of two lots, the whole of the entry was secured by farmers in the district. The sale was a most satisfactory one, and the prices obtained were, if anything, better than what have been going at any of the other sales in this district during the season. Four and six-tooth crossbred ewes brought 12s 7d ; sound-mouth do, 939 3 6d to 12s ; aged, 43 6d to 7s 6d ; four and six-tooth crossbred wethers, 12s to 13s; small two-tooths, 9s Gd to 10s ; crossbred lambs, 7s to 9s. Tha cattle were a very mixed lot, represented by small lots of fat steers and heifers, young cattle, and dairy cows. Ths greater, part of the last-mentioned, were apring calvers and of uncertain age. Inquiry for young cattle and the better class of dairy cows wa3 good, but aged scrts were very difficult to nuit at a reduction on rates lately ruling for this class. Fat steers brought ffom £7 to JB8; f;it heifers, £5 to £0 15s ; dairy co\tb, good, £5 10s to £7 12a Gd ; inferior to medium do, £2 to £3 15s; dry cows, £2 10s to £4 10s; yearlings, £2 10s to £3 7s Gd ; calves, £1 10s to £1 15s.
