Milkers, however, are still very scarce, but we hope they will also get more plentiful presently; the demand still keeps Al for all-round country workers. "Wages rule as follows: —Ploughmen, 22s 6d ; fencers. 20s, 255; station and farm labourers, 20s; cooks and bakers, 20s to 30s ; hotel and station grooms, 15s to 20s ; flaxmill hands, 15s ; rnilkeis, 20s; youths. 12s 6d to. 15s; blacksmiths,
80s; kitchenmen, 20s; porters, 15a, 20s; farm couples, £70 to £80; potato diggers, 6d to 8d bag; rabbit poisoners, 15s to 28s.
