When Flora harked to Spring's leanest, And cheered the landscape grey By giving her a bouquet, btesssd With flowers both rich and gay, To prove. she had no n;i-:cr thought Where scalloped rose leaver graced The dainty gift, with skill prmrought, Some winter buds she placed, That when the summer flowers should fade And, fading, tend to gloom, In all the virgin pride arrayed, The winter flowers would bloom. — J.
