An Absent-Minded Duke.
The Grand Duke of Saxo-W^imar has a. reputation in Germany for "bulls" worthy of an Irishman.
On one occasion his kind heart -look pity on a murderer sentenced for life, so ho remitted the "last three years" of the sentrncf 1 .
Once- while visiting a public fchool he noticed two boys of striding similarity in app r arance.
"Why. what a remarkable likeness !" ho oxe'aimed "Those lads must bo twiri«, arc they nof"
" ¥"es, your Royal TTighnc-«s " replied the principal, and ho beckoned the two friphtcn»»d youngsters to him.
"Ah. my son," said the Prinee> placing hiii hand on the head of one of them, "what in vnur name 1 '" "!-JVinrich." "And ho\/ eld are* yon?"
"And you?" lie said, turning to the other boy.
