SALE OF DAIRY COWS

Wnglit, Stephenson, a:;d Co. report as follows — We held our rnnual sale of Mr Thos. Lee's yearly draft of well-bred dairy cattle at Bay View Hotel yard on Thursday. As hitherto, Mr Lee had his cattle :n fine order, and his reputation as a breeder of supenoi dairy stock has become so firmly established that year after ye?.r the same buyers attend his sale, and so great is their confidence m Mr Lee's judgment in his selections for the annual sale that good competition and excellent prices can always be predicted for his stock. This year's draft consisted of 23 head. For young, just calved or close to profit, there was keen bidding yesterday, and sales were readily effected at £9, £8 12s 6d, £8 10s. £S 7s 6d, £i 10s. and down to £6 15s per head. The young bulls also met with fair competition, and sold at from £3 15s to £3 10s.
