I Bolam, manager of the local office of the New Zealaud Insurance Company, submitted for om inspection on Saturday a sample of sprouting wheat, taken fiom the stnok, which h«d been forwaided to him fiom North Otago The sample in question, which came fiom tho Alma district, was one of qiam ihat under fa\our-ble circumstances was expected to yield 45 or 50 bushels per acre, but is now regarded as useless.
