The movement for tho formation of a Galloway Yeomaairy Corps eeems to be taking hold in Dumfriesshire and Kirkcudbright at any rate, and doubtless Wigtownshire will also furnish its quota. In Glasgow it is stated that no less than 64 per cent, of the recruit 3 jvho have presented themselves have had to be rejected on account of the badness of their teeth. This is attributed in part to the softness of the Loch Katrine water which Glasgow uses so largely, and which. While it saves the citizens thousands a year in soap, is declared to be the cause of a ' great increase in bandy legs, weak ppincs, rickets and the like.
