Notes from CromWell. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
CROMWELL, April 4. The contractors are busy preparing the timber for the Rise and Shine pontoons.
A load of machinery — including ladder, centrifugal pump, tumbler, and a few buckets — passed through yesterday for the»Golden Standard.
The Royal Maori pontoons are now decked over, and the framing is in position for the machiueri.
The Merrimac dredge has reached ftottom, but at present it is hard and nothing shows.
