TARANAKI.
At the Taranaki County Council meeting on Friday the proceedings weie animated. Again the question of abolishing the toll gates was brought forward. Eventually the chairman suggested that the whole 'body should resign, thus referring the policy to the ratepayers. A motion was passed to that effect, and at the close of the meeting all present handefi in their resignations.
