- The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held at the Land Office on the 20th, and^was attended by the Chief Commissioner (Mr D. Barron), and Messrs Clarlt, Dallas^ Duncan, and Kirkpatiick. John Thompson, on bshalf of Hans Peter Priis, applied to purchase part 24 of section 42, block V, Tuapeka East, held by him under occupation license. — Referred to the ranger for report. License to occupy section 2, block 11, Tautuku, was granted to M. O'Connell at 20s per acre. v A letter from the same re road to his sections, 49 and 52, block IV, Catlins, was held over. I ilis E. Clements applied for temoorary graz- j ing right over section 4, bock XIV, Pornahaka Downs estate. — Granted at 10a per month during pleasure of board. Mrs Annie Muir wiote re sections 2 and 3, block IX, Kuriwao.— To be informed that sections are being dealt with, and valuation for ploughing will be added to valuation for improvements already ninde. The Tuapeka County Coar.cil applied to havj an area of about 40 acres on run 140b, adjoining section 9, block A7III,A 7 111, Glenkenich, set aside &3 a gravel re3ezve— Referred to the ranger for report H. B. Fleet wrote re license granted him over section 36, block VI, Table Hill, and the reserve adjoining.— Original decision adhered to. The Tuapeka County Council applied to have sectior.9 341 and 146, block I, Waitahuna West, set aside as a punt reserve. — To be reserved for use of puatman during pleasure of the board. Ranger Hugbfin reported on objection made by H. M'Cormick to amount allowed as valuation for fencing on run 51c, Waipon.— Ranger's report a-ijrf valua'jon adopted. Ranger Hughan reported on the application by William dimming for license to occupy the bridge reserve, sections 1, 2, and 31, block 111, Beaumont.— App^cation granted at a rental of 20s per annum. Ranger Hughan reported on the application by James Craig for an occupation lease over 30 acrfs of unsurveyed land in block V, Teviot. — Application granted, subject to survey, at a rental of 9d per acre. Ranger Hughan reported on the application by the Waipori Commonage Committee for license to occupy about 450 acres in Tuapeka East district, adjoining iun 51. — Application refused. A temporary license to occupy about three chains of the foieshore opposite section 2 of 20, block 111, Moeraki, was granted to James Foster at 7s 6d per annum. The application by Margaret Gift'ord to transfer allotment 3a, Barrego settlement, to Edwin John Wright was recommended for the Minister's approval. The application of Joseph Henry Miller to transfer sections 37 and 62, block VII, Tokarahi estate, and miscellaneous license over sections 37a and 37b, same estate, to Eliza Kirn was approved, subject to consent of Minister. James Hewitt applied to transfer to Elizabeth Hewitt section 18, block VIII, and section 14, block XIII, Tuapeka. West.— Referred to ranger for leport. Isabella Gray applied to transfer to Alexander M'Kay section 9, block VI, Town of Hyde. — Referred to ranger for report. William Bremner applied to have rental of miscellaneous license over section 52, block X, Glenkenich, reduced. — Reduced to 10s per annum. A. C. Iversen, chairman of Earnscleugb. Land Committee, wrote asking that the areas into which the portion of Earnscleugb. run retained for fruit-growing purposes be cut up be from 20 to 30 acres, instead of from 10 to 30 acres as proposed. — To be informed that the greater portion of the' block will be divided into areas of not less than 20 acres each. 1 C.
