TO THE DAISY : THE LOWLIEST

FLOWER. A daisy peeping from its dswy bower j Yet I would have X"one other deck the borders of my grave. Its trustful eye, That looks so boldly tc the frowning sky, Doth me assure Thpt though life's vintry storms I may endure. Yet God will ne'er Forget me, nor the sorrows that I bear, But light will send, — ■ Soft, gracious beams to cheer 'me at the end. And as this flower Awakens at the morning's radiant hour, So, my night past, I may unclose mine eyes in. heaven at last. — H. J. B. September, 1900.
