A Wonder. — A checker prodigy is reported to have been discovered at Buffalo, N.Y., U.S.A., in the person of Master W. D. Champlin, a "bright youth of some nine summers. His father is one oi the strongest players in Buffalo, and upon offeiing to teach the boy how to play the -game, was surprised to find that the lad was already familiar with the numbers of the boaid, and that he could repeat blindfold every game that was demonstrated to him. His memory letains the most intricate and difficult lines of play, so that he is able to repeat them blindfold. The veteran ex-champion of America, Mr H.
