After the game the members met in the pavilion, when the president (Mr D. He had received apologies for nonattendance from Mr J. Allen, M.H.R., Dr Coughlrey, and Mr Pv. F. Smith. He welcomed with pleasure the appearance of those warriors of the game who were instrumental in the formation of the club thirty years ago. and whose keen desire to be "on the jack" was not dimmed by the passage of time. He referred to the assistance given in the past by Mr T. Callender, who was present during the afternoon, but did not take part in the game. He asked the members to -join him in wishing the Hon. T. Fergus and Mr R. F. Smith, who purpose leaving shortly for a trip to the old country, bon voyage. This was joined in heartily by all present with musical honours.

The Hon. T. Fergus, in responding;, referre-l to the happy times he had spent on the green, and said when he foregathered with bowlers in the old country he would express the feeling engendered for the Scottish game in Dunedin and their 'kind wishes towards himself.

Mr Smith was, owing to ill-health, unable to be present.

The health of the president of the New Zealand Bowling Association (Mr J. Hislop) was then drunk, and suitably responded to by Mr Hislop, who referred to the good fellowship that existed amongst- bowlers general!;*, and the meeting of one another as social equals. In responding to the toast -of the " Moderns," the Vice-president (Mr Peter Miller) recognised that though beaten they were not disgraced, and looked forward to a return match between the teams. He referred in eulogistic terms to the manner in which the president had worked to bring the players together, and also to the way in which he looked after the interests of the club. The president's health was drunk in bumpers, and in one cf his happy speeches thanked all for their good wishes. During the day afternoon tea and cake were lavishly dispensed to the ladies, who were largely represented ; and Mr Hamann's band discoursed sweet miiFic. Messrs Muir and Moodie photographed the players, and the group will be of great in-, terest to members when framed and hung in the pavilion.
