As the engineer (Mr L. H. Reynolds) had previously reported that the perforations in the screen were not suited to the class of wash to be treated, the directors propose, at the earliest opportunity, to replace the screen with a 50ft sluice box, 3ft wide, which should considerably improve the gold-winning capacity of the dredge. As some doubt seems to exist as to the exact locality of this claim, it is pointed out that it lies immediately between the Waimumu Dredging Company and the small' private dredge worked by Mt M'Kenzie, with satisfactory results, consideiing her capacity. Owing to the Golden Point dredge being closed down for an overhaul theie was no wash up last week.
