The Hartley and Riley Beach Dredging Company (Limited) washed up on Friday ior a return of 168oz 9dwi of gold for a week's diedg-

ing. The return from the Morning Star Gold Dredging Company for week ending Friday, was 16oz ldwt for 327 woikinq houis. 'ihe leturn fiom the Vincent Geld Dredging Company's dredge was 20oz lOdv t for 136 hours. The return from the Inch Valley Gold Diedging Company's dredge for the week is 21oz for 133 hours. The Secretary of the Tuapeka Dredging Company reports a return of 17oz ldwt for 125 hours' v:ork for the week ended 9th inst. The Secretary of the Nevis Drodging Company reports a return of 21oz lOchvt for 123 hours' dredging. The dredge has turned successfully into neiv cut. The Secretary of the Golden Beach Dredging Company reports a return of 16oz 4dwt gold for the week ended Saturday, 10th inst. Ihe Sccietary reports that the Dunedin dredge washed up 17oz lOdwt 10gr for 122 hours' dredging. The Secretary of the Empire Dredging Company reports a return of -lloz lodwt for last week. The Secretary of the Chicago Dredging Company repoits a return of 20oz 12dwt for 134 houia' dredging. The Secretary of the Manorburn Gold Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return of 28oz 4dwt for the week. Tho Secretary of the Earnscleugh No. 2 Dredging Company reports a return of 720z 16dwt gold for lpst week. Mr Laurence Ryan, Alexandra, reports the fol l owing returns: — Perseverance, 660z; Nil Desperimdum, lOoz 15dwt. Mr J. J. Gibson, Lawrence, reports a return of 18oz lldwt from the Success dredge for 4i days' work. The Secretary of the Maori Dredging Company reports a return of 20oz for last week. The Secretary of the Clyde Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return of 58oz. River 2ft above normal mark. The Secretary of the Matau Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return of 470z. The Secretary of the Waimumu Dredging Company reports a return of 30oz for 136 hours' dredging. The Secretary of the Junction Electric Gold Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return from No. 2 dredge of 17oz. The Secretary of the Magnetic Gold Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return of 21oz for five days 17 hours' dredging. The Secretary of the Golden Gate Dredging Company reports a return of 13oz 17dwt for three days' dredging. The Secretary of the Evans Flat Dredging Company reports a return of 18oz 3dwt for the week ended Saturday, 10th inst. The Secretary of the Chatto Creek Dredging Company reports a return of Boz 7dwt lOgr lor 182 hours' dredging. The Secretary oi the Alpine (Riley's Beach) Dredging Company reports a return of 1603. The dredge has been laid up for a week's repairs. The Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Company obtained last week 260z 16dwt of gold for 138 hours' dredging. The Jutland Flat (Waipori) Gold Mining Company obtained last week 18oz 18dwt of gold for 144 hours' wages' time — 135 hours' actual dredging. Mr J. J. Gibson, Lawrence, reports a return of 19oz 3dwt 12gr from the Lawrence dredge for last week. The Secretary of the Wainmrnu Extended Gold Dredging Company (Mr R. T. Wheeler) reports a return o- 17oz lOdwt for 120 hours' dredging. As this is only opening up the cut, the return is an excellent one, and augurs well for the futuie of this company. As the engineer (Mr L. H. Reynolds) had previously reported that the perforations in the screen were not suited to the class of wash to be treated, the directors propose, at the earliest opportunity, to replace the screen with a 50ft sluice box, 3ft wide, which should considerably improve the gold-winning capacity of the dredge. As some doubt seems to exist as to the exact locality of this claim, it is pointed out that it lies immediately between the Waimumu Dredging Company and the small' private dredge worked by Mt M'Kenzie, with satisfactory results, consideiing her capacity. Owing to the Golden Point dredge being closed down for an overhaul theie was no wash up last week.
