LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board was helcVat the Land Office on AVednesdaj', and was attended by the Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. -Maitldid), and Messrs Clark, Dallas, and Duncan.

C. "W. Rattray wrote re valuation for improvements on Runs 170b and 170 c, Beaumont. — Receiver authorised to pay valuation, £11 4s. to Rat tray a.nl Son.

As&istaut-ianger O'Xeill forwarded report o.i f-ection 13, block V, Woodland, held under occupation with right of purchase license by David Dewar. AJso upon section 14., block V, ■same district, held under similar license by D. 11. li. Aitken and W. R. Williams applied for a lease over the Clyde Commonage. — Rejc.i'ed to the ranger for report. Allan C. Cockerell applied for license to occupy portion of forest reserve, section 50, block IV, Sutton, formerly hold under license by Edward fiyall. — Ryall's license declared lapsed for uon-paymGnt of rent, and yearly license granted to A. C. Cockerell at rental of .£i, v.-ith tiiH usual license fee.

James Xeipcr applied for occupation, lease ove:- 00 acres on Run 221, Leaning Koi.-k district. — Declined. David Cook applied for about three or -four acres _of the swamp in front of section 96, block VIII, Glenomaru. — Referred to the ranger for report. Ranger 'Atkinson reported on the application, by Mrs M. Reilly for liceh&e to occupy sectioa 7, block XIII, Rock and Pillar. — Yeariy license granted at rental of 10s, with usual lic-ase tee.

Robert Love applied for time to remove stock and crop from section 5, block XI, Jt'oolbai'n, in the event of his not again obtaining a lease over the section. — To be allotted 14 days fioni date of sale.

Assistant Ranger O'Xeill reported on section. 12, block KIT, Ifunu, re-opened for application, but lot yel tiksn up. — r io be. notified at capital value ot 7s Cd per acre, with valuation for improvements. £16.

.Hanger fiughan reported on the application by Philip Duffy and Miehaal O'Donnell for license to occupy portions of the mining reserve in block VI, 'i'vuipeka West — Yearly license granted to Philip Duffy over 21a 2r 10p at rental of Sd rer acre, and to Michael O'Donnell over 21a 3r 21p at rental of Gd per acre, with the usual license fee in. each case. - Co-isideration was adjourned as to how sections 9, 10, and^ 11, b'.ock IX, and section I, block XI, Kuxiwao, open for application but not applied for, are to be dealt with.

William Sparks applied for an additional prea, section 11, Town of Waikoikoi, on village homeste?.-cl lease. — Recommended for Minister's approval. .

John "Donaldson's application for pastoral runs 479 and 480 was approved.

James and John Cunningham applied to be registered as proprietors of deferred payment land, section 21, block VIII, Kurow, in lieu of Robert Cunningham, deceased. — Agreed to.

Assistant Ranger O'Neill reported that the following selectors are not complying with the conditions of their leases:— James Beriy, section 28, b'.ock 11, Glenorcaru; Thomas M. Tvonneciy, section 26, Glenomaru; John M'Kinl«y, secl-ion 25, Glenomaru —To show cause to the board within one month why leases should not be forfeited for non-compliance wifch residence conditions.

The following applications were approved: For land under the Land for Settlements- Act, allotment 9, Jan-jfield, William Craig. Application to transfer, adminstrator in estate cf late Felix Fox k> John Keriu, section 8, block IV, Lower Hawea; Same to same, section 13, ditto: John Kerin to James M. Kerin, section 8, bock 11. Cardrona ; M;uy C. Kayne to James B. Munio, allotment 2v, Tahawai settlement.
