CHRISTCHURCH, March 7.

The entries at Addington to-day compiised 2000 sheep, about 3000 fat lambs, 8000 store 3heep, 433 head cattle, and 220 pigs.. \

Cattle. — With the exception of a few ex'n-a good' steers, which brought from £3 to £d 53, the 200 head of cattle forming the beef supplywere mostly light to handy weights. Competition showed no improvement, and last week's rates were about upheld. Good steers brought :£7i to £7 10s; lighter, £5 17s 6d to JE6 10s; heifers, ££ 6d to., .E6 15s ; cows, £3 155 to £6 10s. Tliere ,was' a fair yarding of stores, but'they met a very poor demand.

Fat Sheep. — These were a very mixed lot, containing only a small proportion of freezing ■wethers, which sold at from 14s to 16s, a few pens of extra heavy and prime wethers -making 16s 6d to 17s 9d. Unfinished wethers sold at down to 13s. Any good trade ewes sold wel! at from 32s to 14s, but too many inferior sorts in, and these sold 'at all prices, from 8s to Us, several lots being withdrawn. Merino wethers realised 10s 6d to 12s Bd.

Fat Lambs. — These were of fairly even quality, and there was a slight improvempnt in the demand for freezers, the bulk of the yaiding selling at from 12s to 13s, and running from 11s 9d to 13s 7d, while lighter sorts for butchers' purposes sold' down to 10s 9d.

Store Sheep. — The continued dry weather, and the^close approach of several large sales in the country, made buyers for store sheep rather chary, and most of ths besi, lines did not reach their owners' reserves, and a considerable drop " took place in inferior sheep of all classes. Forward wethers were withdrawn at 12s 9d to 12s lid, and none but inferior Chatham Islanders were sold at prices ranging from 7s lid to 10s id. .Mixed two-tooths^ of fair quality were . .passed in at 12s Sd to 13s -3d. Two-tooth breeding ewes brought 12s 4d; six-tooth do, v l3s to 143 6d; six and eight-tooth ■ do, 10s 3d to 10s IOd; and aged and inferior, 7s 7d' to 9s 6d. A line of 1000 good young ewes were passed in at 12s lOd. .
