BALCLUTHA STOCK SALES.
Messrs Dalgety and -Co. (Limited) report having held their fortnightly sale at Balclutha on Friday, the 2nd inst. There was a large yarding of sheep, fully 3500 being yarded, comprised chiefly of lambs and wethers and young ewes. The attendance was not quite so large as usual, a number of the farmers being busy harvesting, and to this may be attribiited the slackness of the demand, which was not nearly so keen, as at the previous sale. The inquir}' was confined almost entirely to lambs and ewes, there being no buyers present for wethers, unless at a reduction on rates lately ruling. We yarded 2121, and sold 1331 for the following vendors : — Messrs D. Murray (Pukerau), A. Simpson (Puerua), James Lammond (Puerua), T. Little (Hillend), W. Levy (Tahakupu), D. Dunn (Romahapa), J.
