Messrs A. Moritzson and Co. report for week ending February 22: — Wheat.—The demand is quiet, millers in the meantime buying sparingly, and only prime quality at that. The demand for fowl feed is fairly brisk. We quote: Best velvet, 2s 6d to 2s 7d;. medium, 2s sd; best Tuscan, 2s 6d; medium, 2s sd; fowl wheat, 2s to 2s 2d. Oats: There is a good' demand at late quotations. We quote : Best feed, 2s to 2s OJd; medrum and inferior, Is 7d to Is lid per bushel; Sutherlands, 2s Id. Barley: Feed sorts are qtcted at Is 6ct V> Is 9d ; milling, Is lOd to 2s; prime malting, 2s 9d to 3s 4d; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Ryecorn, nominally, 2s to 2s 6d, no sale. Flour: We ouote £6 10s. Oatmeal in 25's, ill. Pearl barley, £W 10s. Bran, £2 15s. Pollard, £3 ss. Nelson hops are qiioled at 8d to lid (f.0.b.). Chaff: Market fairly well supplied. Prime, £2 17s 6d; medium, £2 10s to £2 15s. Ryegrass: Samples of the new seed are now offering, but few sales have been made yet. From present appearances prices are to rule very low. We quote: Farmers' dressed, Is to Is 4d; extra, to Is 9d; machined, 2s 3d to 3s; extra, to 3s 6d per bushel. Cocksfoot, 2?sd to 3d for formers' lots, and 4d to 5d for machined. Linseed, £10. Pressed straw, 27b 6d. Clover hay, £3 to £3 ss. Nitrate of soda, £15. Clovers, lape, etc., all fresh. Potatoes.—Kidneys (slow of sale), £2 5s lo £2 10s for prime; medium, £1 10s to £2; Der- i wents, £2 10s to £2 15s. Hides, 3!d to 4|d, according to weight and condition. Tallow.—Rough fat, 12s to 13s; rendered, 13s to 17s per cwt, according to quality. Horsehair, Is 2d to Is 4d. Sheepskins.—Dry crossbreds, 2s 3d to 7s 6d; merino, 2s 4d to 7s: extra, 7s 6d to 8s; pelts, 9d to Is lOd; extra, to 2s 3d. We held our usual sale of skins on Tuesday, when there was a fair demand. Rabbitskins.—Best winters are worth from 16d to 17d; selected to 17-} d; springs from lid to 14d;- summer from 7d to 9d; small, 3d to 6d pc- ib. Wool.—Our next sale will be held on February 22. We have now erected a complete clover-clean-ing plant, and all our other machinery up-to-date is the finest plant in the Southern Hemisphere. Farmers are invited to inspect. We are ready to start cleaning now. Please consign to our siding. FRUH AND TRODUCE REPORT. Eggs.—Vickery's preservative, 22s 6d per case. Butler preservitas, Is Bd per lb; salt butter, milled and dairy, 74d first grade, 61d second grade, sh& third grade. < Pigs.—For good quality, 3\d, with a good demand. _ Roosters, 3s to 3s 6d; hens, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; ducks, 3s 3d to 4s. Turkeys, in demand — Cocks form lOd to lid; hens, 7d to 7£d. These quotations are for prime quality. Butter cases, 17s per dozen, nee on trucks Dunedin. Onions, 5s 6d cwt. We receive fruit and -sell by auction daily.
