OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting, held in Mr Duncan's office on Monday, the 12th, was "attended by Messrs John Reid (president, in the ohair), R. N. Adams, P. Duncan, W. G. Somevville, L. Langlands (secretary), and Dr Fulton. Correspondence was read, and accounts passed. The Secretary reported that the had written to the secretary of the Southland Pioneer Settlers' Association for the purpose of establishing friendly relations with that body, and tendering, on the part of his association, a cordial welcome to all the gatherings held here. This action was endc sed, and hope was expressed that any members visiting Dunedin would make themselves known, so that the hand of friendship could be extended to them.
It was resolved that the classification of Wiotogiaphs for the historical groups be commenced at oace. The secretary expected to have all the jet unpaid subscriptions in by the end of the month. Messrs John Reid (president), D. Reid, jun. (chairman of committee), G. C. Proudfoofc (treasurei), Dr Fulton, and L. La-ng-lands (secretary) were appointed a committee to ariaiige for a re-union to bo held on 23rd March. (Anniversary Day) to celebrate the jubilee of the arrival of the ships Berkshire, Lady Nugent, and Mariner (second voyage).
Regret was expressed at the heavy obituary list (24), particularly the loss of the vice-presi-dent (Mr Jas. Elder Brown), whose services and gifts had bsen so valuable to the association.
