Stoping has also been^ continued above the north extension of No. 11 level. The reef has widened out going north to 14ft, but it is not so clean as it previously has been, and the stone continues of fair •quality. The north extension of No. 11 level hag been driven ahead for a distance of 10ft, making the total distance 40ft north of the connecting uprise. There is lft of solid stone in the footwall, which is of good quality, and extending across the face for a ■width of 7ft is a mass of broken quartz of fair quality intermixed with a considerable quantity of broken slate and pug. The quantity of water from the face is increasing. Owing to the nature of the country we have not been able "to use the rock drill this week. The quantity of stone sent to the battery is 245 tons. The scrapi/ig of the top plates yielded 1790z of amalgam from 240 tons."
