DUNEDIN RIFLE CLUB.
On Saturday afternoon the members of the «6ove club fired the final competition for Mr A. J. Shaw's trophy. The day was, on the ■whole, a good one for shooting— a steady light and very little wind. An occasional " puff," . however, causing the "outer" disc to be brought - out instead of the expected " bull," prevented any big scores. The conditions - were seven Bhota at 200, 500, and 600 yds, and the following "were the best scores: — 200 500 600 yds. yds. yds. Tl. The conditions for the trophy competition were four matches, three to count, and Mr ArmBtrong was the winner, with a total of 246; Mr Lyders second with 239; and Mr Greenslade (237) third, made up as follows : — Ist 2nd 3rd 4th Comp.Conip.CoinD.Comp. Tl. Mr Armstrong . . — 88 70 88 — 246 Mr Lyders . . — 79 75 85 — 239 Mr Greenslade . . — 87 70 80 — 237 Saturday's shooting also counted for the New Zealand Rifle Association's bronze medal, for which four matches are fired, three to count, * and the above was the first of the series. Airi- '• munition prizes were given by the club to the two highest scorers.
