GOVERNMENT STEAMERS.
The expenditure in connection with the Government steamer Tutanekai for the year from March 31, 1897, to March 31, 1898, was £0299 10s 7d, and with the Hinemoa, £6775 4s. Allowing for £4646 6s 3d received for freight, passages, etc., the net cost of the two steamers for the year was £10,428 8s 4d.
