Messrs Fenton and Butler yesterday paid a visit to the Big River mine, and inspected the new reef which has just been discovered there. The reef was found between Nos. 5 and 6 levels. It has been driven on 15ft and averages about oft. It carries good gold. I have seen some specimens brought to town, and the stone is of excellent quality, with gold showing freely , .throughout. Good stone has also been obtained in the Dillon. Extended. From present indications it has every appearance of developing into a large body of stone. , The reef in the Cumberland is also looking promising, and at present averages about 3ft 2in, carrying gold.
