RATES OF FREIGHT.
Present indications point to a very sharp advance iv wool freights during the coming seasou. The latest fixture ol Sydney ia the ship Kilmory, IM3O tons, at 48« on her net register. Thid tune la»t year 27s 6d per net register ton was the current rate. Numbers of fixtures for September to December loading are reported at 42s 6d to 455. Current rate for same period last season was 27s 6cl. These figures show clearly the enormous increase charterers have had to submit to. To a great extent the demand for tonnage for Newcastle coal at Manila and America is the cause of the advance.
