Pearson's Weekly News says : They are tell- : ing a good atory 01 a certain grocer. The other day a woman came ia and stud : " I waist, two dozpn hen's eggs. They must all be Jaid by black hens." The grocer said : " Madam, I am willing to [ accommodate you, but you have got the beat of me this time; I don't know how to tell the eggs of a black hen from those of a speckled or white one." i , S&id see : " I can tell the difference very ! easily " I "If that is so, madam, will you kindly pick ] ' out the eggs for yourself ? " j She did so, »nd when the two dozen were j counted into her basket, the grocer looked at ! them, and said suggestively : "Well, madam, ] i it seems as though the black hens laid ali the j ' big eggs." I ■'Yes," said she. "That's the way you tell j them." j
